What is a woozy bottle?

A woozy is the tall, slim glass bottle with a long narrow neck that most hot sauces are sold in. The narrow neck and an orifice-reducer insert let the sauce come out a few drops at a time, and the tall body gives a large label panel that reads well on the shelf.

Standard woozy sizes: 5 oz and 10 oz

The 5 oz (148 ml) woozy is the usual retail size for hot sauce; the 10 oz (296 ml) suits larger formats and food service. Both are supplied in clear flint glass. For sampler packs and bitters, our miniature range covers 50 to 200 ml. Ask about smaller woozy shapes such as 2 oz: availability depends on current molds.

Neck finish, caps and dripper inserts

Our woozy bottles use a 24-414 continuous-thread finish: a 24 mm neck with a deeper 414 thread. Order caps with the same finish, and decide whether to add a snap-in orifice reducer (dripper) to control the flow. Tamper-evident heat-shrink bands seal the cap for retail.

Hot fill and food-contact documents

If you hot-fill, tell us the fill temperature, and tell us the destination market. We confirm the bottle and closure for your process and arrange food-contact test reports for the selected SKU and market, for example the US, the EU or Japan.

Buying woozy bottles in bulk

Woozy bottles are quoted from 5,000 pieces, at an indicative FOB price of $0.24–0.28 per bottle from current listings; the final price depends on quantity, decoration and packing. Caps, dripper inserts and shrink bands can be quoted in the same enquiry.

Labels and decoration

The smooth body takes wrap-around labels, and we can supply printed labels with the bottles. Screen printing on the glass gives a no-label look; send your artwork with the enquiry for a printing quote.
