Use an existing format if it meets your functional requirements. Choose decoration to change the appearance without changing the glass shape. Consider a new mold when capacity, geometry or closure requirements cannot be met by an existing format.
Check the drawing, capacity, closure and sample before assuming an existing shape is suitable. An existing mold does not necessarily mean finished stock is available. Ask separately about production availability and MOQ.
Printing, frosting or coating adds specification and approval steps. Confirm artwork, color reference, decorated area and the required durability checks. Glass MOQ and decoration MOQ may differ.
Provide a drawing or dimensional brief. Ask the supplier to separate tooling, samples and unit price, and specify mold ownership, revisions and approval milestones. Avoid comparing a tooling-inclusive quote with a unit-only price.
Keep quantity, glass weight, closure, decoration, packing and Incoterm consistent. Separate sampling, production and transport time. A port-to-port estimate does not include all clearance or inland delivery time.
